Rock Paper Scissors Spock Lizard

The Big Bang Theory version of Rock, Paper, Scissor – Rock Paper Scissors Spock Lizard.

This game was invented because it seems like when you know someone well enough, 75-80% of any Rock-Paper-Scissors games you play with that person end up in a tie. Well, here is a slight variation that reduces that probability. (Note that for those of you who like to swing your fist back and forth and say, „Rock, Paper, Scissors, GO!“, might want to continue to do that, replacing „Rock“ with „One,“ „Paper“ with „Two,“ and „Scissors“ with „Three.“) This version is also nice because it satisfies the Law of Fives.“ http://www.samkass.com/theories/RPSSL.html

Digitally ASSISTED BILLIARDS

„The Idea for Digitally Assisted Billiards was to help people understand the physics of pool by using a webcam and projector to directly give an in-game visualization of the shots being taken“

iPhone Document Scanner

„When I got my iPhone last year I loved having everything important in one place, and the ability to get rid of unnecessary devices, documents and information I kept with me. I would frequently snap photos of class assignments printed on copy paper so I wouldn’t have to worry about losing them. The documents normally came out pretty clear, but it was tough to keep still while taking the pictures. I set out to make something that would ensure clean, consistent pictures of documents taken with the iPhone that would be free and easy to make on your own. And so, here you will find the eps files to make your own iPhone document scanner.“

„Forknife“ the Android G1 controlled robot

„To see how well this idea worked I decided to build a small robot and a few applications to control it last weekend. The result of this is the Forknife Android G1 based robot, the RoboComm android application, and the RoboServ java server which I am happy to say work well. An overview of how the entire system works may be seen below.

In case others are interested in this, stuff, I have made my code for the robot, server, and android application available under the GPLv2 license. Please don’t get too upset with me if the code isn’t very polished.. I threw this together pretty quickly. At least I commented it! Be thankful :)“

RobotLab juke bots – Kuka robot dj

“ There is apparently no limit to the creative ways that one can use a KUKA robotic arm (or two). So, why not turn a couple into what have got to be some of the world’s most complicated and expensive record players?“

Real-time Web Based Power Charting

„This post details a real-time web based household power usage chart. The end result is a live chart in a web page that updates every 10 seconds with the instantaneous power usage for my entire house. The electrical current is measured on the main lines entering my home with AC clamps. The signal is then conditioned with a simple circuit and monitored by an ioBridge module. The ioBridge module takes care of feeding the data to the internet without the need for me to host a power hungry home web server. By using ioBridge widgets with a few JavaScript API calls on my web page, I am able to chart the data with Google Charts as it is measured and make kilowatt-hour calculations in real-time.“

Laser Project – DIY Laser printer

„A few years back a good friend of my said to me „I have this great idea, lets mount a paint ball gun on an X,Y turret and make a huge inkjet printer!“ After a little research we found that it had already been done… (and the time that it has taken me to get this published the MythBusters have done it as well, search youtube)

Eventually we setteled on a servo driven mirror to aim laser light at photo paper to create a „Laser Printer““

Daten wirklich sicher löschen – Einmal überschreiben genügt

http://www.heise.de/security/Sicheres-Loeschen-Einmal-ueberschreiben-genuegt–/news/meldung/121855
