Mobile technology history

Looking for information about the A-Net, the first mobile infrastructure in Germany, I found this website with comprehensive information.

The site informs about the technology between 1950 and 1994, because after 1994 the market spread extremely fast into a confusing situation with alot of different technics and mobile phones.

iPad3 mobile data solution

For my iPad one I bought an O2 data package with a very fair price. 200 MB data cost just 10 €.

But additionaly the offer had another plus, the 10€ are only charged when you use the mobile net of O2 in a month.

Otherwise nothing is charged. Unlicely I can’t find that data package on the O2 website anymore.

I’m searching for a data package with approximatly 500 – 1000 MB and 7.2 MBit/s. The datarate should be reduced after reaching the data limit.

No mobile provider had the pay just when you use option.

A fair price for such a data package would be 15 € in my opinion.

One possible offer was from FYVE – Prepaid Smartphone Surfen für 5,- € im Monat. which is still interesting and worth testing.

Another possible one could be from Congster, Endlos mobil surfen und günstig telefonieren für sensationelle 9,99 EUR/ Monat. hmm ?!?

How do you hold your Nokia?

Personally I’m still unsure if I upgrade to the new iPhone, because I like to hold my phone in different ways. But the nokia article is very amusing.

„We’ve been looking around and noticed there are many ways to hold your Nokia device. Whether you’re left-handed or right-handed, there’s no shortage of ways to hold your phone.“

Mobile Holster – hot or not ?

The only and ultimative answer from the president of the United States, Barack Obahma himself- the’re hot. Ok, the’re only functional.

Google Apps – Google Voice

“ Google Voice Basics: About Google Voice

Google Voice gives you one number for all your phones — a phone number that is tied to you, not to a device or a location. Use Google Voice to simplify the way you use phones, make using voicemail as easy as email, customize your callers‘ experience, and more.

Google Voice isn’t a phone service, but it lets you manage all of your phones. Google Voice works with mobile phones, desk phones, work phones, and VoIP lines. There’s nothing to download, upload, or install, and you don’t have to make or take calls using a computer.

Google Voice will let you define which phones ring, based on who’s calling, and even let you ListenInTM on voicemail before answering the call. We use smart technology to route your calls. So, if you’re already on a Google Voice call, we’ll recognize it and use call waiting to reach you on the phone you’re on.

Note: At this time Google Voice is only available in the U.S.“

And another great tool right from the cloud. Unfortunately not in Germany yet, but maybe soon. There a so many Apps I even haven’t heard of.

Google Mobile App for your iPhone
